The gorgeously smooth and powerful Le XV du President is known here as KING of BIG REDS. A legend for well over a decade, in the last few years extra layers of charm and finesse have added to its traditional recipe of rich colour, intense flavour and velvety texture. In the picturesque village of Opoul, where everything is BIG - from the ruined castle to the champion local rugby team - the hot days and cool nights of 2006 produced a spectacularly flavoursome (but low) yield of Grenache and a magnificently opulent dark, luxuriously smooth wine.
